Spalletti has given “OK” to sign Atalanta player

Juventus are preparing to approach the summer transfer window with the same strategy they adopted in January: move early, act smartly, and seize the right opportunities.

As reported by Tuttosport, the Bianconeri are fully aware that their current squad is not yet equipped to consistently compete for major honors.

The next step in their rebuild is both delicate and crucial — especially in Italian football, where every million invested carries significant weight.

Ederson Emerges as Midfield Priority

One name has been circulating within the club for weeks: Ederson. The Atalanta midfielder represents exactly the kind of high-level opportunity Juventus want to capitalize on.

His contract runs until June 2027, but the situation is far from straightforward. The Brazilian had already shown a desire to leave Bergamo last summer and again in January, yet Atalanta’s firm valuation prevented any deal from materializing.

The Percassi family, who own Atalanta, also had to consider the technical needs of coach Raffaele Palladino.

After Ademola Lookman’s move to Atletico Madrid, sanctioning another major departure could have weakened a side still fighting for European qualification and preparing for a Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund.

Nevertheless, Ederson is eager for a step up. Atletico Madrid have shown strong interest, benefiting from an excellent relationship with Atalanta, but Juventus are closely monitoring the situation.

The expected price tag is around €40 million — similar to the structure of Lookman’s €35 million deal plus bonuses. While substantial, it is not considered unreachable.

Atalanta have offered a contract renewal, yet Ederson has shown little enthusiasm, meaning a summer sale could become necessary.

Juventus’ Vision for the Future

Juventus view Ederson as a perfect fit. Luciano Spalletti has long admired the midfielder, often assigning special attention to him in past encounters.

His tactical intelligence, energy, and versatility would complement the growth of Manuel Locatelli and the development of Khephren Thuram, forming a dynamic and balanced midfield core.

Talks at Continassa have already involved the coaching staff, and enthusiasm reportedly rose at the mere mention of Ederson’s name. Sporting director Marco Ottolini will oversee the operation, though alternatives remain under consideration.

Sandro Tonali is admired, but financial demands and competition from Arsenal complicate that pursuit.

Juventus may not enter the market with unlimited resources, but they intend to act with clarity and precision.

Ederson, who currently earns around €2 million per season, fits perfectly into that calculated strategy — a valuable opportunity that the Bianconeri are determined not to miss.
