A heart-breaking stoppage-time equaliser saw Juventus register their eighth draw of the 2024/25 Serie A campaign against Lecce, and their sixth stalemate in their last eight matches in all competitions (W2). That’s the main reason why they trail league-leaders Napoli by six points – despite being the only unbeaten team this season in a division in which they currently carry a 22-game unbeaten run!
Juventus have also drawn half of their last six competitive home matches (W2, L1), but are unbeaten at the Allianz Stadium in 14 league outings (W6, D8). The arrival of Bologna doesn’t promise to change their recent run of stalemates however as four of the last five H2Hs ended level, including the last three in a row, all of which saw the Bianconeri concede first.
Bologna are starting to recover from a miserable start to the campaign, as a 3-0 win over Venezia last weekend made it four victories from five Serie A outings (L1). That’s lifted them to within five points of their hosts and the top-six, and has since been backed up by a 4-0 thrashing of Monza in the Coppa Italia in midweek, so Vincenzo Italiano is certainly starting to get a tune out of his squad.
The visitors are unbeaten in five of their last six away league matches (W3, D2), winning two of the last three – with the only exception being a 3-0 defeat against Lazio in their most recent trip which saw them play with ten men for almost an hour. All three goals in that contest arrived after half-time, and that’s been a theme in Bologna’s away matches, with ten goals coming in the second half across their last four such games.
Players to watch: Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso has scored four of his five goals for the club after the break. After netting his first Serie A brace against Venezia, Bologna’sDan Ndoye has now scored each of his last seven club goals in victories for his side.
Hot stat: Three of Juventus’ last four home league matches have seen the opening goal arrive inside the first 20 minutes.
