Juventus are reportedly considering a move for Lyon left-back Abner as they look to strengthen the left side of their defence during the January transfer window.
The Brazilian defender has emerged as one of the players on the Bianconeri’s radar ahead of the winter mercato.

According to TuttoJuve, Juventus are keeping Abner under consideration as they assess potential options to improve their squad. However, bringing the 26-year-old to Turin could prove difficult, with Lyon having several reasons to resist a mid-season departure.
Abner Impresses as Juventus Renew Their Interest
Abner has been enjoying a more consistent run of playing time in France, earning increased trust from Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca.
The Brazilian has started each of the club’s last three Ligue 1 matches against Auxerre, Paris FC and Rennes, highlighting his growing importance within the team.
Juventus’ interest is not entirely new. During last summer’s transfer window, a potential deal involving Abner and Loïs Openda was reportedly discussed. However, the idea failed to develop into a concrete operation.
Now, the Brazilian defender has reportedly returned to Juventus’ list of potential targets, with the club considering whether to pursue a move in January. His recent performances could make him an attractive option as the Bianconeri look to strengthen their defensive depth.
Lyon Could Complicate Juventus’ Transfer Plans
Despite Juventus’ interest, securing Abner’s signature will not be straightforward. The defender is under contract with Lyon until June 2029, giving the French club a strong negotiating position and little immediate pressure to sell.

Fonseca also has other options on the left flank, including Nicolás Tagliafico and Ouédraogo. Nevertheless, maintaining sufficient depth across the squad remains important, particularly with Lyon competing in both Ligue 1 and the Europa League.
Allowing Abner to leave in January would reduce the manager’s rotation options at a time when the Brazilian is beginning to establish himself more firmly in the starting lineup.
For that reason, Lyon are not expected to make his departure easy. Juventus may continue to monitor the situation, but turning their reported interest into a concrete negotiation will depend largely on the French club’s willingness to consider a winter transfer.
