Juventus has rejected BIG OFFER for Conceicao

Francisco Conceicao found himself at the centre of attention following Juventus’ match against Celta Vigo, with his visibly frustrated reaction to being substituted raising questions about his relationship with Luciano Spalletti.

The Portuguese winger has since explained his behaviour, but the coach’s response suggests that the situation has not gone unnoticed.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Conceicao was replaced by Nico Gonzalez shortly after the hour mark and appeared visibly irritated as he left the pitch.

The winger later moved to clarify what had happened, insisting that there had been no confrontation with anyone from the Juventus staff.

“I didn’t argue with anyone. I came off, gave the bench a little slap, but I didn’t argue with anyone from the staff. I didn’t speak to anyone or have any conversation.

I went inside, changed my shirt and left. It took three or four minutes, just enough time to go to the bathroom. I have to say this because the truth needs to come out,” the Portuguese international explained after the game.

However, while Conceicao attempted to play down the incident, Spalletti offered a rather pointed response when discussing his player’s reaction and performance.

Spalletti’s Warning Raises Questions Ahead of Lazio Clash

The Juventus manager made it clear that Conceicao should focus more on his own display, particularly after a difficult start to the match.

“He should be angry with himself because of his performance. He slipped three times at the beginning, he came off in the 70th minute, and there’s another match in three days. If he has done something, he will explain what he needs us to give him, and we’ll see how to settle it,” Spalletti said.

His comments leave the door open for further developments ahead of Sunday’s Serie A meeting with Lazio. Whether the situation will be resolved before then remains to be seen, with Edon Zhegrova potentially benefiting if Spalletti decides to make changes.

Although the Kosovo international is not included in Juventus’ UEFA squad, he is becoming increasingly involved in the team’s plans domestically.

Conceicao Must Deliver More After Major Juventus Investment

The timing of this episode is particularly significant for Conceicao, who was expected to establish himself as one of Juventus’ leading attacking players this season.

So far, however, his numbers have fallen short of those expectations, with just one goal and one assist in eight appearances, despite playing more than 500 minutes.

Juventus invested more than €40 million to secure his services across the summer transfer windows of 2024 and 2025, making a greater contribution from the winger an important priority.

Liverpool also reportedly had an opportunity to sign Conceicao in July, with a €50 million proposal on the table towards the end of the month. Neither the player nor Juventus wanted to consider the offer, choosing instead to believe that the current campaign could become the best of his career.

That ambition remains achievable, but his performances must improve if he is to justify the club’s investment. The latest incident has added another layer of uncertainty, and the coming days could prove important in determining whether Conceicao can put the frustration behind him and rebuild his momentum under Spalletti.
