Emil Holm‘s future will once again be linked with Bologna after Juventus reportedly decided not to activate the option to make his move permanent at the end of the season.

According to reports highlighted by TuttoJuve, citing Corriere di Bologna, the Swedish full-back will return to his parent club following the conclusion of his loan spell in Turin.

The decision comes at an especially challenging moment for the 26-year-old defender, who has seen his season take an unfortunate turn both on and off the pitch.

While Holm was hoping to convince Juventus to keep him beyond the current campaign, the club has chosen to pursue other plans, bringing his time in black and white to an end.

To make matters worse, the Swedish international has also been ruled out of the upcoming FIFA World Cup after suffering a muscular injury during Sweden’s national team training camp.

Missing the tournament represents a major personal disappointment for a player who had long dreamed of representing his country on football’s biggest stage.

Holm openly shared his frustration on social media, admitting how painful the situation has been. The defender described the setback as one of the toughest moments of his career, explaining that playing for Sweden at a World Cup had been a lifelong ambition.

Bologna Return Could Open a New Chapter

Despite the disappointment, Holm’s return to Bologna could provide the perfect opportunity to rebuild momentum. Once he completes his rehabilitation program and regains full fitness, the Rossoblù will assess his role within the squad and determine the next step in his career.

The Swedish defender has previously shown qualities that made him one of the more promising full-backs in Serie A, combining athleticism, defensive awareness, and attacking intent.

Bologna may now offer him the platform needed to rediscover his best form and prove that his recent setbacks are only temporary.

For Holm, the coming months will be crucial as he looks to put injuries behind him and restart his career with renewed determination.
