Issa Doumbia may have left Italy to continue his career in Portugal, but his performances are still attracting significant attention from Serie A.
The young midfielder has emerged as a player to watch, with Juventus and Roma reportedly keeping a close eye on his progress at Sporting Lisbon.

The 2003-born Italian midfielder recently made his debut for the Italian national team under Roberto Mancini during the international break, further increasing his profile across European football.
His consistent performances for Sporting have not gone unnoticed, with the midfielder continuing to earn regular playing time.
According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, both Juventus and Roma remain interested in Doumbia, who has impressed with his development in Lisbon. His latest standout performance came against Lens, when he scored his first Champions League goal.
Juventus and Roma Face Premier League Competition
Roma had already identified Doumbia as a potential target during his time at Venezia in Serie B. However, Sporting Lisbon moved quickly to secure his services, completing a deal worth €20 million plus bonuses and preventing the Italian club from bringing him to the capital.
Juventus, meanwhile, have stepped up their interest in recent weeks. The Bianconeri have reportedly included Doumbia among the promising Italian midfielders they are monitoring as they assess options for the future. Cagliari youngster Romano is another name on their radar.
However, the Italian clubs are not alone in the race. As reported by A Bola, Premier League sides Newcastle United and Brentford have also been following the midfielder’s performances and are showing interest in his situation.

Sporting Set an €80M Price Tag
The biggest obstacle for Juventus and Roma could be the financial demands involved in signing Doumbia. The midfielder is under contract with Sporting until June 30, 2031, and his agreement includes an €80 million release clause.
According to A Bola, the Portuguese club are unwilling to move significantly away from that valuation, making a potential transfer particularly complicated for interested clubs.
Sporting’s stance is further illustrated by reports of a €50 million offer that was allegedly rejected in recent weeks. If that figure is accurate, it suggests that the Lisbon club have little intention of letting one of their promising young talents leave cheaply.
Juventus and Roma will therefore need to carefully assess whether pursuing Doumbia is financially realistic. With Newcastle and Brentford also monitoring the situation, competition could intensify, but Sporting’s demands remain the key factor that could determine the midfielder’s future.
