Juventus’ drastic decision on Douglas Luiz

Juventus have taken a firm stance regarding the future of Douglas Luiz, as uncertainty grows around his current loan spell in the Premier League.

The Brazilian midfielder, 27, was sent out on loan to Nottingham Forest with the aim of gaining regular minutes and increasing his market value. However, the plan has not unfolded as expected, prompting the Bianconeri to reconsider their strategy.

So far this season, Douglas Luiz has made 10 appearances for Nottingham Forest. Despite this involvement, the obligation-to-buy clause included in the agreement is now at serious risk.

The clause, set at €28.5 million, would only be triggered if the player featured in at least 15 Premier League matches of a minimum of 45 minutes each. With time running out and his playing time not guaranteed, Juventus are growing increasingly concerned.

A move to protect the player’s value

According to Sportmediaset, Juventus have decided to accelerate their plans in order to avoid a potential devaluation of the midfielder.

The club’s management believes that leaving Douglas Luiz in his current situation could negatively impact both his confidence and his market appeal. For this reason, the Turin-based giants are already exploring alternative solutions ahead of the winter transfer window.

One of the options seriously being considered is a change of destination in January. Juventus are open to interrupting the loan with Nottingham Forest and arranging a new temporary move for the player.

The idea is to place Douglas Luiz in an environment where he can enjoy more continuity and a clearer tactical role.

Among the scenarios on the table, a return to Aston Villa on loan is emerging as a concrete possibility. Douglas Luiz previously enjoyed a strong spell with the English club, where he was a key figure in midfield and one of the team’s most consistent performers.

Juventus believe that a return to a familiar setting could help him regain form and visibility.
As reported by Sportmediaset, this potential move would be aimed purely at safeguarding the player’s value ahead of future decisions.

Juventus remain attentive to developments, determined to act swiftly to ensure that Douglas Luiz’s situation does not turn into a financial or sporting setback for the club.
