Double transfer Juventus – Fiorentina, talks ongoing

Juventus are continuing to reshape their squad ahead of the new season, with defensive reinforcements remaining one of the club’s priorities.

According to Calciomercato, the Bianconeri have identified Pietro Comuzzo as a serious transfer target, while Fiorentina’s long-standing interest in Joao Mario could create the conditions for negotiations between the two clubs.

Comuzzo has emerged as one of the most highly rated young Italian defenders, and his future at Fiorentina appears increasingly uncertain.

His profile is particularly appreciated by Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti, who previously called the defender up to the Italian national team on multiple occasions during his tenure as Italy manager.

That trust could now play a key role in Juventus’ pursuit of the talented centre-back.

Fiorentina Continue to Track Joao Mario

At the same time, Fiorentina remain interested in Joao Mario, an interest that Calciomercato reports has existed for some time.

The Portuguese full-back recently returned to Juventus after his loan spell at Bologna but is not believed to be part of Spalletti’s plans for the upcoming campaign.

Despite the mutual interest between the clubs, a significant valuation gap remains. Fiorentina reportedly value Comuzzo at around €25 million, reflecting his age, potential, and growing reputation in Serie A.

Juventus, meanwhile, are said to value Joao Mario at approximately €10 million, making a straightforward swap difficult under the current circumstances.

Loan Formula Could Be the Solution

Rather than pursuing permanent transfers immediately, both clubs could explore a more flexible structure.

According to the report, separate loan deals with purchase options could provide a solution, allowing Juventus to bring Comuzzo to Turin while Joao Mario heads to Florence.

Such an arrangement would postpone any final decisions on permanent transfers until next summer, giving both players the opportunity to prove themselves in their new environments before the clubs commit financially.

While negotiations are still at an early stage, the shared interest between Juventus and Fiorentina could develop into one of the more intriguing domestic transfer stories in the coming weeks, provided both sides can find common ground on the financial terms.
