Thuram brothers interview

Khéphren and Marcus Thuram during an interview to ‘Magazine UEFA’:

MARCUS – “Playing in the same league, in two of the biggest clubs, is a dream come true”.

KHÉPHREN – “It’s fantastic, mainly because I am in Turin, where my father played, in the same club. It’s beautiful, Marcus plays in another Italian club. Of course, we don’t love each other very much”.

THE REPLY OF MARCUS – “Correct, we are great rivals”.

MARCUS TELLS ABOUT THE TIE BETWEEN THE BROTHERS – “On the pitch, it’s like we are the only ones, me against him, without the other players. Only us two. It’s like us playing again in the garden of our house. When we faced Juve, Khéphren was on the bench. After every goal that I scored I looked at him, and laughed… Khéphren is my big baby. It’s weird for me and stressful to see him on the pitch or watch his games. I’m nervous before the start of each game and I hope that it goes well for him. I think that happens to all the big brothers that watch their young brothers grow. It’s weird because I will also see him as the little Khéphren, even if now he’s bigger than me. He’s a person that loves life, he respects the others. If he says he will do something, he does it: you can see the values of the person in these things. In the Champions League final, or in any final, if he will be on the pitch, I will make fun of him. It’s impossible that anything else happens, I will look for him, I can’t help it. It’s something beyond football”.

MARCUS IN THE EYES OF KHÉPHREN – “I feel proud when people talk about Marcus, it means that he’s doing a great job. When they tell me: ‘Your brother is very strong’, to me it is important, I’m happy about it. He’s an amazing person, he’s a workaholic, always smiling. He’s always joking and he takes care of those around him and those he loves. It was really important to have by my side a person like him. But he will always be a joker, I can’t tell you everything but he’s crazy. He likes to joke around”.
